It only seems like yesterday that Private Resistance opened in Aldeburgh but some 50 odd performances later we’re now heading into the last couple of weeks of the tour. And to finish with some pretty special gigs coming up. A week ago the company were at the East Anglian Railway Museum (which seems appropriate given that the story involves blowing up railway lines!).
Then last week after stopping off at Westleton, Hockwold and Maldon the company spend the weekend in the beautiful surroundings of Woodbridge (rubbing shoulders with a farmers market). Having started the day in the cloisters at Norwich at 0511 I ended it by seeing the Sat night show – the performance still sends a shiver through my spine even on its fifth viewing
So now it really is into the final week. Last chance saloon if you’ve not seen it yet! After a brief stop off in Harleston its off to the picturesque Blackthorpe Barn for a couple of nights (16-17 May).
And then finally the tour ends at Parham Airfield (18-20 May) with a ‘drama weekend’ involving the play (of course), Re-enactments, military and farm vehicles from the period, displays and visits to the recreated Underground Bunker – just like the one which forms such a key part of the play. A very fitting end to the tour!
